Pokémon Go Appraisal vs. IV Calculator

Few days after Pokémon Go got released the majority of trainers started using one or another Pokémon Go IV Calculator (tool for calculating your Pokémon’s Individual Values of Attack, Defense, and Stamina). Therefore, it’s not a big surprise Niantic developers added Appraisal feature which is more or less eliminating a need for this type of tools.

On the other hand, your Team leader phrase doesn’t mean the exact IV but just a range. Therefore, all trainers who are not satisfied with the IV range will still use one or another IV calculator just to get more accurate evaluation.

Pokemon Go Appraisal Update

Pokémon Go Appraisal Update has been released on August 22, 2016. Pokémon GO app has been updated to version 0.35.0 for Android and 1.5.0 for iOS devices. If it includes multiple stats then those stats are equal. If it includes the best phrase(s) then those stats are 15.

This doesn't mention other things the Team Leader says about stats. Example: with several of my 'mons, TL adds "Its (Attack, Defense, etc) is great, too." Does the "_____ is great, too" mean it's a 15, a 13-14, or just above average? This doesn't give any hints about that... It's kind of relevant, at least to me, LOL! When the Team Leader is indicating I have a really good 'mon (37 or higher out of 45), and says the best quality is X, then follows with Y is great, too, I'd really like to know if that means the second stat listed will be the highest possible group, too, or just above average.

So how can my CP1584 Gyarados be a strong pokemon, "blown away by its stats Wow" and "so small I hardly noticed it" ... all at once?
