Pokémon Go IV Calculator

Our Pokémon Go IV Calculator has been updated based on the BoredMai work.

Pokémon Go IV Calculator. Pokémon Go IV Calculator (also known as Pokemon IV Calculator) is a tool for calculating your Pokémon’s Individual Values (IVs). So far, there are three Individual Values in the Pokémon Go game, namely Attack, Defense, and Stamina. These three values define your character’s potential and ability as a Gym attacker or defender. This page will be dedicated to Pokémon Go IV Calculator and all related details.

What is Pokémon IV and why it’s important?

Each Pokémon in the Pokémon Go game is unique. First of all, each Pokémon type has Base Stats for Attack, Defense and Stamina. What is more, each Pokémon has its Individual Values that increases Base Stats for Attack, Defense and Stamina by 0-15 extra points. These Individual Values differ from Pokémon to Pokémon and it’s what makes each Pokémon unique even though they belong to the same type.

As we have already mentioned, there are three Individual Values in the Pokémon Go game. It’s Attack, Defense, and Stamina. Attack determines a Pokémon’s strength in taking a Gym, while Defense and Stamina determine its strength in defending it. This means having a Pokémon with better or worse Individual Values increases or decreases its chances in winning Gym battles. Simply saying, it’s a direct advantage or disadvantage in Gym battles!

We would guess the majority of Trainers are already asking where they could check those Individual Values. This is where things get a bit complicated. Individual Values cannot be seen in the game as these stats are simply not displayed. Luckily, we are here to offer you a Pokémon IV calculator which you can use on the top of this page to calculate your Pokémon Individual Values.

How Pokémon Go IV Calculators Works?

IV Calculator is one of the most popular tools among Pokémon Go players and that’s the main reason why we have so many of them already. As far as we know most of the Pokémon IV Calculators are using the same Pokémon Go stats as well as reversed formulas (shared by __isitin__):

CP = (BaseAtk + IndAtk) * (BaseDef + IndDef)^0.5 * (BaseSta + IndSta)^0.5 * (ECpM)^2 / 10

HP = ECpM * (BaseSta + IndSta)

Too complicated to get the reversed formula? Use Pokémon IV Calculator on the top of this page! By determining which of you current Pokémon has the highest IV, you’ll know which ones are worth keeping and which ones should be immediately sent to Professor Willow.

How to Use Pokémon Go IV Calculator?

We have tried to make our IV Calculator as easy to use as possible. Yet, here’s a short how to use guide if you find it difficult to use:

  1. Choose Pokémon from the drop down list.
  2. Set Trainer level.
  3. Set Pokémon level by changin the Arch position over Pokémon on the right (below if using mobile device). Please double check Stardust and Candy values (adjust Arch position to correct).
  4. Set Pokémon CP.
  5. Set Pokémon HP.
  6. Press Calculate IV button and you will see your Pokémon IV!

It’s easy as that. Just in case you have more questions, please check FAQFAQ section or leave your question in the comments section below.

Frequently Asked Question

  1. What are the best possible IVs?
    100% for all the categories, but that Pokémon might not be easy to find, though.
  2. How accurate is this Pokémon IV calculator?
    It will be accurate in most cases, yet in some cases it may need some improvements.
  3. I have only one Pokémon of that type with very low Individual Values. Should I keep it?
    We would suggest keeping it until you find a better one.
  4. Why is Pokémon IV important?
    Pokémon IVs determine its strength and future potential after fully leveled / evolved. Without knowing your Pokémon IV you can mistakenly send super strong Pokémon to Professor Willow.
  5. How important are IVs?
    IVs can make up to 20% difference in attack, defense, or stamina.
  6. How to find out my Pokémon IVs?
    IVs are not visible in your Pokémon Go game. You can only calculate them using Pokémon IV Calculator. You need to know your Trainer Level, Pokémon Level (Arch Position), Pokémon CP and HP.
  7. Does Pokémon IVs change during evolution or power up process?
    No, Pokémon IV stays the same when evolving or powering up your Pokémon.
